One of my favorite traditions growing up was to visit Temple Square to see the lights on my birthday. Now that I live so far away it obviously does not happen but this year I was able to take my kids to see the lights, although not on my birthday. It was cold and snowing and we almost didn't get the big green machine back onto the road (we parked on a very steep and icy hill) but by golly we went and enjoyed ourselves. The kids really liked all the nativities from around the world that they have displayed, they were new for me as well. Jacob was for some reason at awe with the inside of the tabernacle. Maybe it was the warmth inside who knows. Carson liked that the fountains were "all foggy". The rest of us just loved the large trees filled with lights. A great opportunity to reflect on the birth of our Savior and exactly what it means to us.
WE LOVE COMMENTS Don't be shy, let us know you've been by.
Garrett is our oldest of 5. He is definitely a "pleaser" if you will. A very good boy with very good grades, sometimes too smart for his britches. He loves to play soccer and tennis. He is currently serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints, in the Brazil Goiania mission. He loves being a missionary and the Brazillian people.
Hailey is our 2nd child and only girl. She loves life and is a ray of sunshine in our home. She recently had to quit her love of gymnastics due to a knee injury but is keeping herself involved by coaching the sport she loves. She also is a very good student and seems to be in competition with her older brother.
Chase is officially our middle child. He has followed his older siblings into the world of Orchestra, although he plays the viola instead of the violin. He sits first chair and is very proud to let you know. He enjoys playing soccer and has a love for the world of science.
Carson is our 4th child. Everyone loves this kid, and he is a friend to all. He enjoys playing soccer and basketball. He also has a mind for the the abstract and asking lots of questions. He just recently became a percussionist and hopes to one day be the drumline captain. I believe he is serious as we continually hear rhythmic tapings coming from his room.
Jacob is our extreme child as well as the caboose. He keeps me very busy while he runs away, breaks bones, and plays jokes. He is very quick witted and has no problem keeping up with his older siblings. He like the rest of them loves to play soccer and quite frankly is a naturual at it. He enjoys being a cub scout and playing basketball as well.
I am a SAHM of five great kids ranging in ages from 14 to 4. I met my husband at BYU, and since then we have been on an adventure together, having fun and raising our children. I recently joined the blogging world and I am hopelessly hooked. We are currently living in the great state of Texas.
